Agriculture, food and military

Since its first year in the 1980s, the Verdun National Fair has become one of the first events of its kind in the department. In 2022 it is approx 400 exhibitors who came to show visitors their know-how and share their passions. “The food and drink stand is always a big draw. That from also agriculture and cattle breeding. These are very important sectors in the department. The armed area was also a great success. Many young people who want to enlist or become reservists have made contact with the professionals present,” explains Jean-Pierre Laparra.

For the president of the fair, the theme chosen for this year is ” Welcome home “, sums up its raison d’être perfectly: “To draw attention to the Meuse to those outside the department, but also to the men and women of the Meuse”. But he sees another advantage in this type of assembly: social connection. “In the age of the internet and e-commerce, I feel people still need that contact with merchants to see what they’re going to buy. »

See you (if all goes well) in 2023 at the new edition of Verdun Expo.
