and site of the future roundabout of Mulsanne/Laigné-en-Belin (Sarthe) started this Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at RD 338. This should last almost six months, until mid-March 2023.

The construction of a roundabout at the intersection of RD 338, RD 212 bis and VC 7 will facilitate the sorting of vehicles and increase the safety of all users.

Since 2010, despite the presence of a double left turnconflicts between different users were observed.

Actually in this place 1100 vehicles (including 5% heavy goods vehicles) will take RD 338 per day and 2,600 vehicles take RD 212 bis.

Network work

Work on the classic-sized roundabout (20 m radius) will be accompanied by the relocation and modernization of the Enedis, telephony, fiber optic and drinking water networks.

Parking

There will also be a common parking lot with about ten spaces.

Access to it will be from municipal road no. 7 (route de Champdorcet) and its surroundings will be modified.

Central Island the roundabout will also be greened during this winter 2022-2023.

Impact on traffic

To ensure the safety of users and the smooth running of the site, RD 212 bis and VC 7 (route de Champdorcet) will be closed to all traffic.

Diversions will be in place throughout the duration of the works until mid-March 2023. Some phases of the works (asphalt mats) will very rarely require the installation of alternating traffic lights on RD 338.

The amount of this transaction, €650,000 including VATis 100% funded by the company Department.
