According to Thomas Blondyn
The Descent’ in Mayenne returns Saturday, September 24, 2022. Canoe, kayak or even paddle, with a license for the general public are invited to participate in this hike, which will take place on the same route as in 2018, namely Montflours in Laval with a picnic break in Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne.
Didier Le Blanc is the president union committee of canoeing and kayaking, organizer of the event: “One hundred people participated in the first year in 2018. It was special because it was a busy year that gave the river another dimension! This year I promise there will be water,” he smiles.
After canceling the 2019 edition due to cyanobacteria and two years of Covid, the committee is delighted to see the return of the tour. “It is open to everyone, the only condition is to know how to swim. Anyone can bring their own boat or rent one from one of the four clubs in the department. It is a family and friendly tour, without classification. It is also an opportunity for us to discover our activity and strong connection to the river and nature. »
Bigger hike in the pits
This hike could lead to more action next year: “All day, from Ambrières to Daon or a large part of the river, in one or two days with bivouac, says Didier Le Blanc. It is still on the cards and would be done alongside the Descent in Mayenne. »
