organization” 40 million motorists just asked the state for a clean and simple repeal and radar it is located in Poissy (Yvelines).

In his own words, the delegate-general described the device located on D190 as “an early Christmas wreath that flashes continuously. »

behind the bush

Pierre Chasseray condemns the presence of this device, installed in the direction of Saint-Germain-en-Laye – Poissy, “just behind a bush shortly after the entrance sign to the town of Poissy. It catches motorists because maintaining 30 km/h on this descent is extremely difficult…”

From October 22, 2021, this speed limit of 30 km/h applies to the entire city of Poissy. The aim was to standardize the various restrictions. But also improve road safety.

At that time, the city councilor responsible for transport and parking commissioned 78actu with its assessment. “The goal is not to get people going 30km/h because we know we’re not going to get there. Only instead of a maximum speed of 70 km/h, when the speed is limited to 50 km/h, it reaches a maximum speed of 45 km/h. Thanks to these regulations, 90% of motorists are aware that there can be danger in the city at any time. You actually reduce your speed by 10 to 15 km/h when you go from 50 km/h to 30 km/h. »

Unsustainable downhill speed

For Philippe Nozière, president of the association, “this type of radar is typically what creates a sense of injustice. The simple fact of passing the car is enough to make you realize the huge problem, because the speed is unsustainable going downhill. »

On September 23, he therefore asked the mayor of Poissy and the interdepartmental delegate for road safety, Florence Guillaume, to study this file and remove this radar.

“We are fully at his disposal to finally introduce measures that will reduce road deaths. It’s time to make road safety with motorists, not against them,” he says

To date, there are only six fixed speed cameras in France installed on streets at a speed of 30 km/h. In addition to Poissy, there are three in Paris and two in Choisy-le-Roi (Val-de-Marne – department 94).
