Solidarity takes place in Pas-de-Calais In response to a tornado that passed through several villages from the south of the department this Sunday, October 23, 2022. The Association of Mayors 62, AMF, launched fundraiser to help victims of disasters.

Four villages affected

The selected funds will make it possible to finance the Civil Protection action on the spot as well as the needs of the affected residents, whose inventory is currently underway. As a reminder, Bihucourt, Hendecourt-lès-Cagnicourt, Mory and Récourt were hit by the tornado.

“Solidarity is part of the association’s DNA, and a few hours after the tornado, many elected officials told me that they wanted to help the municipalities affected by the tornado,” confides Frédéric Leturque, president of AMF 62 and mayor of Arras.

For the city councilor, organizing the collection appeared “as a self-evident and most effective way to provide concrete and quick assistance to mayors and residents affected by the disaster.”

The donation procedure is explained in detail here.
