Secretary of State for the Environment, Beranger Couillard announced the return of the 2024 “Palombe Bleue” night train on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Responding to a question from the Senator of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Max Brissonwhen dealing with questions to the government.
“From 2024, the night train will operate daily Dax, Bayonne, Orthosis and Pavel, apart from Lourdes and Tarbes” declared the Secretary of State. This line was removed in 2011 and will therefore be returning daily if the government is to be believed.
We also remember in 2021 the words of the then Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, who announced the creation of new connections by 2030 Paris to Albi, Bayonne, San Sebastian (southern Basque Country), Barcelona (Catalonia), but also Toulouse, Montpellier and Marseille. He also announced the connection, Bordeaux-Nice, Nice-Barcelona-Bordeaux and Metz-Geneva.
This night service was relaunched this summer, mainly towards the northern Basque Country, but passing through the Haute-Garonne via Toulouse
