The Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Occitanie launched several operations in Toulouse after two cases of indigenous dengue fever were discovered.
After Plaisance-du-Touch (Haute-Garonne) and Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), Occitanie is again affected by dengue fever. Health patrol authorities have confirmed two indigenous cases in the Amidonniers district of Toulouse. Both patients are part of the same household and neither of them is returning from a trip to the risk area, he clarifies 20 minutes.
Mosquito control in the neighborhood
This is why the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Occitanie qualifies these cases as indigenous. In most of these cases, dengue fever is transmitted from one infected subject to another through the bite of a tiger mosquito. Symptoms – fever, headache, body aches – can appear within 4 to 7 days after the bite.
ARS Occitanie conducted an extensive neighborhood survey. Door to door is due to start this Wednesday, October 5, with pest control taking place overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
