According to Monique Henriette
As part of the entertainment it offers 28 to 30 October 2022 in Lons-le-Saunier to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the Marseillaise composed by Rouget de Lisle (read below), there will also be an opportunity to discover at Carcom a replica of the plaster model which Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi made before the birth of the bronze statue inaugurated on August 27, 1882 in the Place de la Chevalerie.
In 1881, indeed, the reputation and works of the sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) convinced the elected representatives of the time to invite him to design this statue, which was then produced by the workshops of the Thiébaut brothers, the usual founders of monuments created by Bartholdi.
This plaster model, which was handed over by the mayor to the curator of the city museum on May 21, 1881, is part of the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts.
The town of Lons-le-Saunier and Les Amis de la Marianne de Chatelneuf had the idea to make copies (300 mm x 82 mm x 82 mm).
The prototype was digitized by Digitage of Paris (authorized by National Monuments). It was then reproduced by Alsyl de Charency in 60 copies, which are sold for €90 at the tourist office and booksellers in Lons-le-Saunier.
A website will be launched soon to enable remote ordering.
