This time it’s the right one. The expansion and renovation of the emergency department of the hospital in Lisieux (Calvados), which has been postponed several times, will finally begin. The first picks are expected on Monday, November 21, 2022.

The service, which has been saturated for many years, will turn deep for 22 months to absorb the 35,000 recorded passages per year under the best possible conditions. With a promise: once the job is done, no one will be waiting in the hallways.

The service will continue to work

The project should last 22 months: 8 months for the new extension and 14 months for the 6 phases of rehabilitation of the existing premises. The core of the project is the improvement of income and working conditions. This therefore includes the development of a nursing station at the heart of the service, the creation of more spacious waiting rooms, the doubling of boxes to ensure patient privacy, various standing circuits and stretchers…

The emergency service will continue to operate during the works. The site begins with the construction of an extension. In the second stage, the reconstruction of the existing premises will take place. At that time, ER activity will be moved to Extension.
