Gard. An 83-year-old con man disguised himself as a postman to take advantage of the elderly

As detailed by the police You don’t (Gard), a man of 70-year-old appearance he pretended to be a postman. He approached his victims, other elderly people, in uniform to gain their trust.

He then claimed he had a problem on Bank card victim and had it returned to him to place with the code in an envelope to be picked up later by one of his colleagues. He changed the envelope in action.

Discovered by the distributor’s camera

The octogenarian had only to go to the nearest distributor to get money fast before the older people he just conned figured out. However, it was during these recalls that the fraudster was identified on the distributor’s surveillance cameras.

Call for victims

The investigators found that he had already been punished 12 times for similar acts. The man was placed in pre-trial detention on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

He will be arraigned on Monday, October 31, to appear immediately. He faces up to 14 years in prison.. The National Police launched an appeal for victims.
