First World Fencing Championship medal for Hervé Le Barbier

Herve LeBarbermember Fencing Academy of Langrune-sur-Mer (Calvados) won the first individual bronze medal in the over-60 category at the World Championships held on Monday 10 October 2022 in Zadar (Croatia).

Multiple medalist

After already being first in the national ranking of veterans 2022, individual French champion in Anglet (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) in June 2022, European champion in the French team in May 2022 in Hamburg (Germany) and 5th in the 2014 World Veteran Championship in Debrecen (Hungary), this bronze medal is the sanctification of an exemplary sports career and the result of diligent training with Master Millet at the Langrune Academy.

In Zadar, Hervé Le Barbier is 10th out of 85 in the pool. In the semi-finals, the Langrunais lost to the German Achim Bellmann (5/10). Two other Langrunais competed in the over 50 category: Emmanuel Peyret-Lacomberanked 6th for his first pick and Florence Pagnyfinished in 2nd place.
