Lighting and lights “will be significantly reduced this winter,” the committee said in a statement. The lights go out in 11:45 p.m for Christmas decorations, which is two hours earlier than usual. It will only last until January 2, 2022, for a total of six weeks instead of seven in previous years. We will make an exception on New Year’s Eve, December 24 and 31.

“To avoid blackouts and lack of electricity this winter, the consequences of the war in Europe, the Champs-Élysées must participate collectively and in solidarity with the efforts required of the French,” explains the committee in its press release, while the city of Paris also presented on Tuesday, September 13 energy sobriety plan.

The Champs-Élysées Committee believes that these measures should make this possibleyou save 44% of energy consumption. “Lighting 2022 will only mobilize 13,176 kWh, i.e. the annual consumption of a household with 3/4 of the population, compared to 23,400 kWh in 2021,” he clarifies.
