According to Writing Success in Périgord
In 2010, the first tourist meetings were held in Périgord Noir. Today they bring together three tourist offices, those of Sarlat, the Vézère Valley and the Pays de Fénelon. On November 7, over 200 tourism service providers from the area will gather at Lascaux IV. The meeting will start at 5 pm with a round table. “After two years of disruption due to Covid, we feel people want and need this”points out Cécile Lepoutre, director of the Vézère Valley office.
The special feature of this year will be the presence of Christelle Chassagne and Aurélie Loubes, respectively the president and director of the regional tourism committee (CRT). “It will allow us to know the main focus of the region in terms of tourismintroduced by Katia Veyret, manager of Sarladais. And they started their positions only a few months ago. It is also an opportunity for service providers to meet them. »
The meeting of the three managers was also an opportunity to take stock of the 2022 season. A season that caught up to the standards of 2019, which was already a very good season. “Spring is off to a great start.notes Cécile Lepoutre. We thought we would have a lot of people. But it started again a little later in July. »
This means that in the opinion of the three officials, the season was very good. In terms of attendance, if French clientele make up the majority of the contingent, foreign tourists have returned to Périgord Noir. “For me, the French represent about 60% of the clienteleasks Katia Veyret. Other nationalities are mostly Belgians, Dutch and Germans. And to my surprise the English came back. » So are Americans and Israelis. The late season is also very promising.
