It’s gliding this Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September in Carnon, with the “Wingfoil Event”. The competition will feature the glider, a new generation gliding device that is currently on the rise. Departure from Marcel Buffet Naval Base.
12 km downwind
The events will consist of completing a downwind (leeward) course crossing the Gulf of Aigues-Mortes, i.e. over 8 nautical miles (12 km) for professionals to Grau-du-Roi and 4 nautical miles (5 km) for amateurs up. to the Grand Traverse. The first 10 amateurs from Saturday’s race will be selected to participate in Sunday’s race along with the pros.
Meeting in perspective in JO 2024
This event, labeled “Baie de Camargue Sailing” and “Terre de Jeux”, is one of the unmissable maritime events of Carnon with a view to the Olympic Games in 2024. Completely free, its organization was made possible thanks to the support of the city and Mauguio. Carnon Tourist Office, Carnon Regional Sailing Training Center, SNSM and DRAJES. F-One, the world’s leading manufacturer of this line based in Pérols, will be the premium partner for this first edition.
