Brest: Association uniting fans of Japan and Japanese pop culture

The Samwi Japan event, a very young association founded last July in Brest, could not have dreamed of a better event to start with. 1ahem and on October 2 participates in the Geek Days Brest expo. The association will organize a stand there during the two days and will even host video montageSaturday 1ahem October from 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on the Asian stage. “It’s great,” admits Sofiane Morhtassi, president of the Samwi Japan event.

The 22-year-old native of Brest founded the association with his best friend Arnaud Larreur and his cousin Maëllyne Chennaf. Today it unites around thirty members. “The goal is to bring together fans of Japan and Japanese pop culture and create a cultural crossroads in Brest. That everyone can share their passion: drawing, cosplay, manga…”, introduces Sofiane Morhtassi, who himself is enthusiastic about editing and drawing. Residents who want to explore this universe are also welcome.

Animation on sight

The association intends to promote Japanese culture in the city of Ponant by organizing events. And the options box is open: an introduction to Japanese artevening games, competitions, concerts… There is no shortage of ideas.
