On October 20, 2022, the prefecture of Meuse introduced a new control area around a new outbreak of bird flu, confirmed on 17 October 2022 following the death of two swans. The animals were infected with the H5N1 virus. It concerns 114 municipalities in the Meuse.

Measures to respect
Due to the character “highly pathogenic and contagious” of the virus, as well as the “deterioration of the health situation with regard to bird flu in France”, the authorities therefore set up a control zone to stop the spread of the virus.
