Due to the character “highly pathogenic and contagious” of the virus, as well as the “deterioration of the health situation with regard to bird flu in France”, the authorities therefore set up a control zone to stop the spread of the virus.

– For farms with more than 250 birds, “monitoring is done through self-checking”with the aim of “revealing the appearance of the disease as best as possible”.
– The movement of poultry, including game birds, of all species and at all stages of production, is also subject to self-inspection.
movements and transport game killed in the temporary control zone and their meat are forbidden.

The prefecture reminds that the consumption of meat, foie gras and eggs, and more generally any poultry-based food products, does not constitute no risk to humans. It also emphasizes the importance of respecting all biosecurity measures available on site.
