What happened in the dressing room Caen Basket Calvados at half-time of their match in Pont-de-Chéruy, this Friday, October 28, 2022? Probably nothing special. However, the team that returned to the field after the 15-minute break had little in common with the team that played the first half. Pont-de-Chéruy, the author of a good start to the season (four wins, two losses), faced Caennais in the first two quarters. Then there was nothing.

She Embo releases a charge

The visitors, led by Carl Ona Embo, started the third quarter with an 11-0 run. In ten minutes their lead increased from three points to… 26! Caen proved unstoppable in this one-sided period. His outward display has been quite exceptional with seven award-winning shots in that short span.

Yanik Blanc, ultra-efficient behind the arc, attacked at the same pace in the fourth quarter. Caen nevertheless calmed down the game in attack without maintaining its defensive impenetrability. The Cébécists scored 43 points in the first half (43-46, 20′), in the next twenty minutes they will take only 18.

White is still performing

Caen spoke of the strength of its collective with five players over 10 points and a bench with 36 points. With his three-point skill (13/27), the Normans dominated in all areas of the game. Yanik Blanc particularly distinguished himself despite his substitute status. He finished with 17 points (5/6 shooting), 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

This second win in a row allows CBC to continue their rise in the standings before they host Cergy-Pontoise on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
