and Le Palace cinema of Andelys (Euros) is not immune to the decline in attendance seen nationally. But the complex is running Noah Cinemas caused more than the damage limit with -20 to -25% compared to 2019, which is the reference year with more than 82,000 entries.

Therefore, to achieve this goal, 28,000 admissions over the last four months would have to be achieved. Not impossible for Yoann Durand which relies on programming density.

This will hopefully be confirmed this weekend at the festival in Normandy. Launched in 2021 to support cinemas going through the crisis, this operation aims to offer access to all films for €5 for three days, from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 September 2022.

It is also an opportunity to promote films that have been supported under the regional support fund or that have benefited from the film hosting policy. Last year, aid of €2,265,000 was allocated and 110 shoots were placed in Normandy.

Demonstrations and musical performances

At Les Andelys, viewers will be able to attend five previews this weekend: “The Cadors” with Jean-Paul Rouve, Grégoire Ludig and Michel Blanc on Friday at 20:15, “My Heroine” with Chloé Jouannet, Pascale Arbillot Brigitte Fossey and Firmine Richard on Saturday at 20:45, “Samurai Academy” Sunday at 10:30, “Storm” with Mélanie Laurent, Pio Marmaï on Sunday at 2 pm and “A Woman of Our Time” with Sophie Marceau on Sundays at 8:30 p.m.

This weekend will also be musical with two events. The Palace will broadcast Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Rigoletto” live on Saturday at 6 p.m., performed by the Opera de Rouen. Entry will be free.

On the second day at 16:15, music lovers will be able to attend a screening of André Rieu’s concert in Maastricht, his hometown. You will have to pay €19 (regular price) or €13 (reduced price).

Dragon Ball, Avatar

The end of the year promises to be very rich in programming. In particular, several films are expected. This is the case Dragon Ball Super – Super hero (preview on Sunday, October 2 at 6 p.m.).

It will too Avatar 2: The Way of the Water which is scheduled for release on December 14. “We’re going to offer it in 3D, which we haven’t done in a while,” explains Yoann Durand.

Two exceptional concerts will be shown in the cinema: Coldplay on Saturday 29 October at 20:00 and Indochine on Thursday 24 November at 20:00 (price: €16).

It is possible that film crews will pass by the Le Palace cinema by the end of the year.
