Like last year, Secondary Vocational School Mezen ofAlencon (Orne) accompanies several of his students to Le Mans (Sarthe), on 24 hour trucksSaturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2022.

16 students

The 16 boys and girls from 1st grade and Terminale grade who enrolled in the road driving course are all volunteers. And impatient! Their mission, which they accepted with enthusiasm: to ensure the marking (to inform the pilots) on the starting line of this competition, which hosts the French and European championships.

Meet the pilots

Last year, the Truck Mechanics Section hoped to introduce the truck at the launch in 2022. But that’s still not in the papers.

Hence this renewed partnership with the Driving sector. To the delight of Julien Augry’s students.

We leave on Friday afternoon so they can have a look around, discover the pits and maybe meet the driver. Last year, some young people had the opportunity to discuss with Téo Calvet.

It’s also a good time to be brave…

The braver ones ask the drivers of the Friday evening parade trucks if they can get on. Some say yes…

While last year the youngsters from Alençon provided the markings for only four races of the French championship, “this time we will also go to the European championship, i.e. a total of eight races”.

“Unforgettable Moment”

Willelma has never been to this race, “so I’m very excited, I want to see what it’s like”.

It is also the first time for Swann, as Hugo and Ludwig, in 1st grade last year, have already been there. Some to enjoy the experience again. “They told us a lot about it, as an unforgettable moment,” explains Pierre-Marie. “It whets the appetite. »

“It will also be an opportunity to establish professional contacts”, continues Julien Augry. “Talking about work and the future…”
